Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced vehicle mechanic to join their team. As an Ambulance Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of the fleet of ambulances to ensure they are always in safe and working condition. Your primary duties will include performing routine maintenance checks, diagnosing mechanical issues, and completing repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
Responsibilities:
Work with the Fleet Manager to maintain a fleet of emergency ambulances and other company vehicles
Assist the Manager in developing and maintaining a top-notch maintenance program that focuses upon the continued safe and reliable operation of the fleet
Perform all necessary repairs, checks, and preventative maintenance that is required up to and including major overhauls
Assist the manager in educating the operators about the various functions of the vehicles
Become familiar and be able to repair all interior non-medical equipment such as gurneys, fasteners, lifts, and emergency warning devices
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Always be courteous and helpful to employees and represent the organization in a professional manner
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Required:
3 – 5 years’ experience as a professional mechanic
required
ASE A4/A5 certification,
current or past
required
Valid and clear Nevada or California Driver’s License
required
Must provide own tools, with a tool allowance provided
Ability to operate common shop hand and power tools
required
Ability to operate simple computer programs and modern vehicular diagnostic equipment
required
Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
Self-starter requiring little oversight
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
Ability to read an make practical applications of shop manuals and manufacturer bulletins
EMS vehicles must be maintained to “aircraft standards” and the employee must be able to perform preventative maintenance and checks to assure the best reliability possible
Must be adaptable to change and be able to function in a team-based environment
Forklift certification within 30 days
required
OSHA 10-hour certification within 30 days
required
EPA 609 certification within 30 days
required
REMSA ASE A1, A2, A3, A6, A7, & A8 certification within 18 months
required
Sunday - Wednesday, 10-hour shifts
