MLee Healthcare has been engaged by one of our clients in town to help them recruit a Director of Postpartum Nursing to lead their dynamic team. Our client is committed to providing exceptional patient care and fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment for their staff. The team is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of families, and we are seeking an experienced and passionate Director of Postpartum Nursing to lead their postpartum unit.
Position Overview:
The Director of Postpartum Nursing will oversee the postpartum unit and ensure the delivery of high-quality care to new mothers and their babies. This leadership role requires a dynamic and strategic individual who can manage nursing staff, coordinate with other healthcare professionals, and drive continuous improvement in patient care.
Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Management:
Provide the postpartum nursing staff leadership, mentorship, and support. Foster a positive work environment and promote professional development.Patient Care Oversight:
Ensure patients receive compassionate, evidence-based care per hospital policies and procedures.Quality Improvement:
Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and enhance the quality of care. Monitor and evaluate patient care practices.Resource Management:
Manage departmental budgets, staffing levels, and resource allocation to optimize unit operations.Collaboration:
Work closely with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care for postpartum patients.Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and hospital standards. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and guidelines.Education and Training:
Provide ongoing education and training for nursing staff on best practices, new technologies, and changes in care protocols.Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.Licensure:
Current RN license in Texas. Certification in Postpartum Nursing or a related field is highly desirable.Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in postpartum or maternal-child nursing, with at least three years in a leadership or management role.Skills:
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Attributes:
