POSITION SUMMARY & JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Facilities is responsible for overseeing the management and maintenance of all physical facilities within the organization. This role includes ensuring that buildings and equipment are safe, functional, and well-maintained while optimizing operational efficiency.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDevelop and implement facility management strategies to ensure optimal functionality and safety of all buildings.Oversee maintenance operations, including preventive and corrective maintenance programs.Manage facility-related budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.Coordinate and supervise renovation and construction projects.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities to identify areas for improvement.Lead and mentor the facilities team, fostering a collaborative work environment.Serve as the primary point of contact for facility-related inquiries and issues.Collaborate with other departments to support organizational goals and initiatives.Availability to respond to emergencies outside of normal business hoursDevelop and facilitate building, maintenance, and operations policies and procedures. Conduct an annual review of policies to ensure they are aligned with institute goals and strategiesEDUCATION
Education: Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Architecture, Urban Design, or a related field.QUALIFICATIONS
Proven experience in facilities management or a similar role, with a minimum of 8 years experience.Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.Excellent leadership and communication skills.Proficient in budget management and project management software.Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.Excellent English proficiency (written & verbal) requiredAdvanced mechanical skills and knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other building infrastructure systemsProficient in MS 365 applications, Adobe, Bluebeam, Space Mgmt SystemsESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Overseeing the maintenance and repair of all facilities, including building infrastructure, equipment, and grounds.
2. Developing and implementing facility management policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations.
3. Managing facility budgets and expenditures to ensure cost-effective maintenance and operation of facilities.
4. Supervising facility staff, including maintenance technicians, custodial staff, and security personnel.
5. Collaborating with other departments to address facility-related issues and support organizational goals.
6. Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and codes related to facility management.
7. Planning and overseeing facility improvement projects, renovations, and expansions.
8. Developing and maintaining relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure quality service and competitive pricing.
9. Monitoring and evaluating facility operations to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices.
10. Providing regular reports and updates to senior management on facility operations and performance.
