We are currently recruiting for an Immediate Care Clinician to work in our Bridgeport clinic.

The Immediate Care Clinician will provide primary care to patients following accepted standards and protocols and will function as part of a team, seeing patients on a scheduled and walk-in basis and direct their clinical care together with other members of the care team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide direct patient care including pre-operative care, post-hospital follow-ups, physical exams (up to four physical exams per day, 30 minutes per exam) and urgent care, as well as telehealth care as needed.Immediate Care physician in collaboration with the CMO will provide clinical guidance and direction as needed to the non-physician members of the Immediate Care team regarding direct patient care, use of clinician time for in-person and telehealth visits, Immediate Care clinician staffing/coverage questions.

Provide clinical coverage at various Optimus sites as needed, while maintaining a primary presence at a designated Optimus clinical location.

Collaborate with the Immediate Care Team to monitor the Immediate Care pool on a daily basis, distributing assignments based on need and availability of clinician staffing.

Follow his/her own patients' lab and imaging results (except during PTO, when these responsibilities will be assigned to another member of the Immediate Care team.

Support primary care clinicians in completing home care and other clinical orders and other documentation as needed.

The Immediate Care clinicians will participate in regularly scheduled Immediate Care team meetings with the goal of maximizing the efficiency of the care process and designing and implementing standing orders to guide patient care and decrease clinical and administrative workload for Optimus' primary care clinicians.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of patients in a diverse community.

Ability to work independently, and to interact with colleagues and other staff in a team environment.Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.Comprehensive knowledge of modern principles and techniques of general medicine and public health, as traditionally practiced.Ability to work well under pressure analyzes and evaluates individual member's needs, reach sound conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations.Must be detail oriented and be able to multi-task effectively.Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation,diagnosis and treatment in area of expertise.

Knowledge of the availability of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals in area of expertise.Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosagesand instruct patients in correct usage.

Ability to develop and present educational programs and/or workshops.Competent with common PC applications including Internet, Email and Microsoft Office as well as comfortable with EMR applications i.e., EPIC.Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements and standards.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Experience with telemedicine helpful.

EDUCATION:

Must hold MD, DO, from an accredited medical school; BA/BS, MS preferred. Graduate of AMA accredited Physician Assistant of NP program.

EXPERIENCE:

2 years of experience preferred in providing patient care as MD, DO PA, NP or Preference for board certification in internal medicine, family practice, or emergency medicine.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Bi-lingual preferred

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION:Current unrestricted Connecticut License to practice medicine as and MD, DO, PA, NPActive Federal DEA and Controlled Substance RegistrationFor physicians board certified in Specified Area of Medical Specialty.Current CPR certification and ACLS certification required.
