A PT1 is an entry level physical therapist who may be a new graduate or new to a medical setting. A PT1 provides safe patient care at a basic level and shows growth in ability to care for increasingly complex patients. A therapist at this level requires consultation with more experienced clinicians regarding complex patient problems and coordination of care with the other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team. The PT1 is focused primarily on mastering general knowledge and skills. This therapist understands the PT1's role on the interdisciplinary team and is beginning to participate as a member. The PT1 is expected to do an annual self-evaluation and may mentor support staff and volunteers pending approval by senior staff.Performs physical therapy examinations according to professional standards and departmental policy.Demonstrates knowledge of intervention options and executes a program of skilled physical therapy intervention.Actively participates in professional growth of self and others.Actively participates in quality improvement and program development.In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Position Compensation Range: $70,595.20 - $112,944.00 Annual
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Physical TherapyExperience: No experience requiredLicensure: Licensed to practice in Physical Therapy in the Commonwealth of Virginia. New grads must be licensed within 6 months of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods and frequently bending/stooping/traveling. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
