Boston Energy Trading and Marketing provides asset management & optimization services to owners of generation and energy storage in North America, and wholesale energy to retail power & gas suppliers. Our proprietary traders cover competitive power markets including New England, Midwest and Western markets. BETM has been optimizing our customers' generation assets for over 15 years. Our current organization has its roots in Citizens Power, dating back to 1989 when Citizens obtained the first FERC power marketing license and market-based-rate authorization. Mitsubishi's Diamond Generating acquired BETM from NRG Energy in August 2018, and prior to 2014 BETM was known as Edison Mission Marketing and Trading. Mitsubishi's provides BETM with investment-grade credit support for BETM's commercial activities.

Role Summary:

Boston Energy Trading and Marketing is looking for a Generation Dispatcher to assist in managing real-time operations of BETM's generation assets and execute real-time dispatching strategies to optimize BETM's real-time energy positions.

Reports to:

Manager, Real Time Operations

Responsibilities:

Coordinate unit availability, outage schedules, unit startup and shutdown times, and communicate all necessary information to plant personnel, ISOs, and day-ahead tradersTake or direct timely and appropriate real-time actions in accordance with ISO proceduresActively communicate with Asset Management group to maximize value and minimize risk for energy management clientsMaintain thorough understating of ISO tariffs, manuals, policies and procedures governing generator dispatchComply with applicable NERC Reliability StandardsMonitor and analyze available market information to identify dispatching opportunitiesAnalyze and evaluate energy transactions to ensure that all relevant aspects including energy price, transmission, counter party, and contractual terms are compliant with BETM's Risk Management PolicyComplete and maintain necessary PJM Generation Operator certification and continuing education requirementsQualifications:

Bachelor's degree in economics, business, finance, or other relevant degree/experienceAt least 1 year of real-time generation dispatching experiencePotential to hire candidate with limited experience as an entry level dispatcherCompetence with mathematics and technical conceptsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProven ability to take appropriate action within time constraintsProficient with Microsoft ExcelExcellent verbal and written communication skillsMotivated self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a teamGeneration Dispatchers must be able to work a 12-hour shift schedule as part of a 24 hour, 7 days a week operationLevel, Title and/or Salary may be adjusted based on the applicant's experience or skills.
