is currently recruiting for Shipping and Receiving at our Roanoke, IL Facility.
This is a 1st shift position: 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays for a few hours depending on our workload.JOB DESCRIPTION
The incumbent will ensure that shipping/receiving operations are completed in a timely and professional manner.
DUTIES
Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment
Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, or boxes and secure material or products for transport to designated areas
Weigh materials or products and record weight or other production data on tags or labels
Assists in preparing items for shipment
Maintains shipping paperwork and checklists
Labels packages via UPS or FedEx
Verifies inbound and outbound loads and materials
Assists Logistics Manager with shipping & receiving inquiries and paperwork
Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.
Maintains a clean, safe work area
EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated experience in safe fork truck driving and material moving
Customer-service orientation
Demonstrated knowledge of shipping and receiving general practices
Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal and time management skills
Demonstrated comfort level in interfacing with various levels of staff and management, while working in a fast paced environment
Controlling operations of equipment or systems
Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Demonstrate multi-tasking ability to respond to manufacturing needs
This position does not include supervisory responsibilitiesphysical demands/ ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
This position is located in an industrial/production environment, with exposure to:
Extended periods of sitting or standing.
Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arms length, stoop, kneel, and crouch
Regularly required to stand for long periods of time
Ability to work in proximity to moving, mechanical parts and machinery
Intermittent exposure of to cold or heat
Pay depending on experience.
All candidates must pass a drug screen and necessary tests for position.
