Job Purpose
ICE Futures U.S., Inc., a subsidiary of Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. presents a unique opportunity for a full time Analyst to join its Market Regulation team. ICE Futures U.S., Inc. is a U.S. derivatives exchange registered with and regulated by the CFTC as a contract market for commodity futures and options. The Market Regulation Department is responsible for enforcing the Exchange's rules through market advisories, investigations and disciplinary actions. In this position you will be responsible for investigating trading activity in derivatives markets to detect potential violations of Exchange rules and CFTC Regulations applicable to trading in energy, agricultural, & financial futures and options traded on ICE Futures U.S. markets, and provide guidance to market participants based on their dynamic needs. You must be professional, proactive, analytical, able to collaborate with others and create efficient, innovative approaches to gathering and analyzing data, and communicate clearly and concisely.ResponsibilitiesDevelop substantive knowledge of Exchange's rules and CFTC regulationsStay informed on relevant Federal regulations, policy and developmentsDevelop knowledge of commodity markets, particularly related to energy, financial & agricultural marketsMonitor the relation between cash commodity fundamentals and the futures market, particularly in energy and agricultural marketsWork with large, complex data setsResearch data from a variety of real time and post trade systems to identify abnormalities or potential rule violationsDocument detailed analyses of trading activityConduct investigations of potential rule violations by obtaining testimony, compiling records and drafting investigative reports for presentation to disciplinary committeesBuild relationships with market participants and provide guidance on Exchange rulesImprove common processes to find efficienciesCollaborate with others on technology and systems to enhance operational processesKnowledge and ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Economics, Finance, Math or Juris DoctorateStrong analytical and communication skillsFamiliarity with futures markets, commodities and tradingFamiliarity with data analytic tools is a plusExceptional written and verbal communication skillsSelf-starter who can prioritize and meet deadline pressureComfortable working in a fast paced, high stress environmentAbility to communicate with market participants, federal regulators and executive managementKnowledge of futures exchange operations, trading, risk management or regulationsScheduleThis role offers work from home flexibility of one day per week.New York Base Salary RangeThe expected base salary for this role if located in New York City is between 75,00 - 85,000 USD. The base salary range does not include Intercontinental Exchange's incentive compensation.
