Position OverviewKaeppel Consulting is seeking an Occupational Therapist to primarily work with an inpatient population, assessing and developing individualized treatment plans to improve patients' ability to perform essential occupational skills safely and effectively. This role involves hands-on patient care, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and the provision of adaptive equipment education and training.Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment : Assess patients’ ability to safely and effectively perform daily activities and occupational skills.Care Planning : Design appropriate, individualized plans of care, specifying type and frequency of treatment.Treatment Implementation : Implement treatment plans using suitable modalities, coordinating multi-faceted activities based on individual patient needs.Documentation : Document subjective and objective findings of patient progress; monitor and modify plans as necessary.Consultation & Education : Provide patient and family education on identified deficits and therapy goals.Discharge Planning : Assist with discharge planning, offering guidance on adaptive equipment and support programs.Supervision : Supervise and delegate tasks to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and therapy technicians, adhering to licensing laws, state regulations, and practice standards.Infection Control & Safety : Follow all infection control and safety protocols.Adaptive Devices : Fabricate and fit splints, braces, and other adaptive devices; train patients on proper usage.Inventory Management : Maintain appropriate inventory levels for adaptive equipment.Qualifications

Education : Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.Licensure : Active Occupational Therapist License in the State of Kentucky.Experience : Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience; experience in activities programming preferred. Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (TR) or Occupational Therapist (OT/COTA) with at least two years of recent experience in activities programming within the last five years.
