History:

Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) was organized in 1967 and has boundaries coterminous with Martin County, Texas. It is located in the heart of West Texas. Opened in 1949, the hospital was originally located near downtown Stanton. This facility served the community well for many years, but was replaced with a state of the art 18 bed facility in 2012. The new facility is located on I20, and has been designated as a Critical Access Hospital.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directs the provisions of respiratory services for patients of the hospital. Under the direction of a physician and or the Director of Cardiopulmonary, administers prescribed respiratory therapy procedures, performs a variety of technical procedures and assists in the cleaning, maintenance, and disinfection of respiratory therapy equipment.

Requirements

Education: Licensed as RT or CRT by the state as required. Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy. Associate or Bachelor of Science degree preferred. Licenses/Certificates:

Licensed as RT or CRT by the state as required. A Certified Respiratory Therapist is Registry - eligible by the appropriate professional organization and is currently licensed by the state, if required. Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy. Current BLS certification required upon hire. ACLS and PALS certification required within 120 days from date of hire. Experience:

Two (2) year critical care experience. Prior ER experience preferred.
