Payroll Accountant
LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for an experience payroll professional for a growing client in the Greater Cincinnati area. This role will be a combination or payroll processing, helping with weekly and monthly accounting duties, and handling company benefits for employees. This position is direct hire and will pay between $55K and $65K annually depending on experience and education.
Responsibilities:
Process and manage the companys payroll on a bi-weekly/monthly basis for 400+ employees.Ensure accurate and timely payment of salaries, wages, bonuses, and deductions.Maintain and update payroll records, including employee information, salary changes, and tax withholdings.Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies.Handle employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and provide timely resolutions.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.Collaborate with HR and finance departments to ensure accurate employee data and benefits administration.Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports related to payroll.Conduct regular audits of payroll procedures and records to ensure accuracy and compliance.Assist with processing accounts payable and accounts receivable when needed.Assist with month and quarter end close.Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations and implement necessary adjustments.Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is highly preferred.3+ years of proven payroll processing experience.1-2 years of accounting experience.Exposure and understanding of company benefits is highly preferred.Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Experience with [specific payroll software, e.g., ADP, Paychex].
