The Saint Alphonsus Neuroscience Institute is looking for a team-oriented and personable Medical Assistant for our Boise Neurology Clinic!Position Summary & Highlights:
This Medical Assistant position will be in a hybrid setting working with the front office staff to process referrals as well as support the back-office staff with various clinical tasks.
A s the regional provider of advanced neurological services, Saint Alphonsus neurologists provide care for patients with complex conditions, neurodegenerative disorders, seizures, and general neurological disease.
Neurologic conditions treated include: Stroke Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), Movement disorders, including Parkinson's disease and essential tremors, Neuromuscular dysfunction, Migraine, Multiple sclerosis, Memory conditions, including dementia and Alzheimer's disease.
We also work in tandem with our neurosurgical team as well as supporting our neuro-ophthalmologist who is the only one in the state of Idaho!
What Will You Do :
Assist our referral coordinator by transcribing and processing referrals.
Provide support to the back-office staff by assisting with rooming and taking vitals. You will also assist with skin biopsies, draw up and give injections, and set up for minor procedures.
You will also perform prior authorizations for medications, procedures, and imaging, complete chart prep, follow up on imaging orders, and other tasks as needed.
You will work in a great positive team environment along side other MAs, RNs, and front office staff.
An ideal candidate is someone who is reliable, proactive diligent worker, is eager to learn, has an interest in the neuroscience field, and likes to be challenged.
You will also be friendly and confident, enjoy providing attentive and compassionate patient care, have strong communication skills, attention to detail and organizational skills.
You will enjoy working with patients of all ages and enjoy working independently and in a team environment!
Work Schedule :
40 hours per week, Mondays - Fridays , around the hours of 7:30am - 4:30pm .
Shift start and end times may vary based on provider and clinic needs.

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
MA certification required within 90 days of eligibility to take a national certification exam from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
American Medical Technologists (RMA)
National Healthcare Association (CCMA)
National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
Completion of either 6 months MA experience or completion of 100-hour MA externship is required even with MA certification.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.
Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year. See each of the credentialing organization sites for additional details. EMT certification does not count towards an MA certification.
