Summary:The Director of Facilities Operations is responsible for providing structure and support for Cook Children's Medical Center Facilities and Plant Operations programs and also for Cook Children's Northeast Hospital Facility Management services. This structure and support will ensure strategies and resources are in place to meet and exceed the Medical Center's expectations of providing a welcoming, clean, safe and effective environment of care for our patients, families, visitors, staff, volunteers and physicians. As a Support Services staff member, the Director of Facilities Operations will demonstrate a commitment to Cook Children's Healthcare System's operating values and integrate them into each job function by always employing effective processes and education of staff. The leader of this area should: * Live quality while improving efficiency * Challenge the status quo by allowing innovation to be integrated into daily work. * Think creatively, plan analytically and then act decisively. * Communicate in an open, respectful, timely and effective manner. * Encourage personal fulfillment, optimism and joy in the work place. * Work collaboratively with all parties to ensure favorable processes and outcomes.Education & ExperienceBachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferable in Engineering and/or construction with a minimum of 10 years' experience directing facility operations in a healthcare environment.Strong working knowledge of JCAHO, NFPA, TDH, NEC, CDC and other codes and code authorities.Licensure, Registration, and/or CertificationCertified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) - PreferredProfessional Engineer (PE) - PreferredAbout Us:Cook Children's Medical Center
