Join our respiratory team as a 1st year Respiratory Intern! We are now hiring the next cohort of incoming Respiratory Therapy students.

Requires current enrollment in the first year of a CoARC approved program in Respiratory Therapy.

Requires high school education.

Performs a variety of support functions to prepare and maintain equipment and supplies as needed by the respiratory staff.Sets up patient care rooms for admissions and cleans patient care equipment as dictated by hospital and department policy and procedures.Restocks equipment and supplies as needed maintaining appropriate levels per department guidelines.

Incumbents will be eligible for transition to the Respiratory Care Practitioner Intern II position, upon completion of first year in respiratory program and ongoing enrollment in second year in a Respiratory Therapy program and based upon ongoing acceptable employee performance and position availability.

Requires ability to identify problems, troubleshoot and know resources available for finding the most efficient solutions to problems.

Basic level of computer experience with the ability to navigate Microsoft office applications including Word, Outlook and Excel.

CPR certification obtained within six months of hire - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required. Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact courteously and tactfully with patients, parents/families and members of the health care team. Performs basic clerical and communication functions within the unit (phones, patient inquiry, e-mail, voice-mail, Voalte, etc.) as needed.

The ability to represent the organization and serve consumers in a professional manner and promote a positive image of the department and its services. Possess willingness and initiative to successfully complete educational requirements and develop and learn new skills as required by the unit.

The intern role will be a

rotating weekend schedule

to allow for students to engage in classes during the week.
