The Suspension Engineering Lead will lead all design, analysis, and test efforts towards the development of suspension systems for vehicle programs. The individual will also work closely with supporting department stakeholders in the development of vehicles from concept stage to full production. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.)On-going learning opportunities within a diverse, inclusive and rewarding work environmentOnsite Cafeteria, remodeled with new equipment Fitness Center, and Outdoor fitness trackDescription of Work:Develop integrated suspension solutions for wheeled and tracked military vehicles.Engage with suppliers towards the development of subsystems and components for suspension systems.Identify subsystem and component level requirements and provide direction to the analysis teams.Actively support new product development teams in defining feasible concept solutions.Develop integration approach and provide direction and guidance to peers.Create test plans and actively lead or guide the subsystem level of testing.Prepare and present information to leadership on the project progress and design solutions.Interface with the customer and project office, as needed, in support of vehicle programs.Direct and oversee the CAD model development and drawings.Direct and interpret the structural and fatigue analysis.Address cost, reliability, maintainability, safety, and human factors in the design development.Handle programs on a very tight schedule and budget with complexity.Ensure the customer expectations are met and/or exceeded.Position Requirements:BS in Engineering required.7+ years of experience in the area of military vehicle suspensions.Established knowledge of suspension components for military vehicle applications.Experience in CAD and advanced simulation tools such as Pro-Engineer, Matlab, etc.Excellent analytical skills to appropriately size subsystems and components.Demonstrated ability to work independently.Ability to direct and lead others in a team environment.Mind-set to work collaboratively in a team environment for program success.Ability to improve existing processes in order to improve efficiency and speed.Excellent skills to develop technical documents and provide oral communication.Primary on-site work with occasional travel to vendors, production plants, and test locations.Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.
