Growth Opportunities Program Manager Role Overview
Founded in 2006, Ambassadors For Christ Youth Ministries, Inc. (AFC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization providing multifaceted prevention and intervention programs for at-risk, underprivileged, and displaced youth. Through partnerships with schools, churches, and community organizations, AFC has served over 16,000 youth across Houston, Texas, and Pine Bluff/Little Rock, Arkansas areas.
We are seeking a Program Manager to oversee our DOL-funded Growth Opportunities program. The purpose of this program is to introduce and prepare justice-involved youth and young adults for the world of work through placement into paid work experiences, and on a path to more equitable career opportunities with their peers.
In addition to paid work experiences, the program encompasses occupational education and training in in-demand industries, leadership development, a mentorship component, and post-work experience placement into unsubsidized employment and/or education. These grants focus on youth and young adults most impacted by community violence to advance equity, particularly in areas of concentrated crime and poverty as well as communities that have recently experienced significant unrest.
Key Areas of Contribution:
Program Leadership and Implementation:
Ensure program delivery aligns with AFC's mission and DOL grant requirements
Develop and execute strategic plans, both long and short-term, to achieve program objectives
Maintain compliance with relevant legislation and professional standards
Implement human resources policies, procedures, and practices of the organization
Lead staff recruitment, training, and development initiatives
Impact : Effective program management ensures youth receive high-quality services that advance their career readiness and reduce community violence.
Stakeholder Engagement and Partnership Development
Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
Coordinate service delivery across program activities
Facilitate communication between staff, partners, and participants
Develop partnerships with employers and training providers
Impact : Strong community partnerships create sustainable pathways for youth employment and support systems.
Program Operations and Quality Assurance
Develop and maintain an operating plan to support the program
Monitor program performance and outcome metrics
Ensure accurate and timely reporting to DOL and stakeholders
Manage program budget and resources effectively
Implement continuous improvement strategies
Impact : Data-driven program management leads to improved outcomes for justice-involved youth and program sustainability.
Requirements:
Two years of case management/social work experience with high-risk youth
Valid Arkansas Driver's License and reliable transportation
Strong cultural competency and communication skills
Experience with program management and staff supervision
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data management systems
Preferences:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field preferred
Knowledge of Pine Bluff/Little Rock community resources
Experience with DOL grants and reporting requirements
Background in workforce development or youth employment programs
Proficiency in Salesforce
Spanish language skills
Work Arrangement:
Full-time position with some evenings and weekends required
Location: Pine Bluff, AR
Reports to: Senior Program Director
