Job Description
As an
Associate Application Engineer
at Renesas, you will learn about Renesas' flagship timing devices for the wireless and data center markets. Your primary focus will be understanding customer requirements, measuring the performance of our PLL devices on the bench, and explaining these measurements to customers. This will require learning about the operation of the Renesas timing devices coupled with lab work. In addition, this position involves interacting with cross-functional teams to learn about new devices and support internal activities.Due to the amount of lab work involved, this will be an in-office position.Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering - recent graduateKnowledge of circuit analysis and filtersGood understanding of frequency domain signals analysis, including BODE plots, FFTs, spectrum analysis.Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and function generatorsFamiliarity with PythonCommunication skills to explain technical concepts to internal and external customersMust be flexible and adaptable to changing prioritiesSelf-starter, not afraid to ask questions and seek guidanceCurious with a strong desire to growGood attention to detail.Optional Requirements:Knowledge of phase locked loops (PLLs) as an example of a closed loop control systemKnowledge of transmission line effects and common signal types (CMOS, LVPECL, LVDS, etc.)Solder and rework experiencePCB design including schematic capture and layout review for new evaluation boardsLab automation techniques and approaches using PythonAdditional Information
