DB2 LUWJob Responsibilities:The individual will function as the primary subject matter expert for DB2 LUW database administration service operations, performing incident and problem resolution, standard service requests, infrastructure monitoring and alert response, and consultation with application support and development staff.Experience in DB2 LUW database administration skills including installation, patching, configuration, monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.Skilled in supporting various DB2 LUW versions (v9.7 and V10.1).Provide application database support services: apply schema changes, restores, backups, data refreshes.Provide support for BCP exercises and actual disaster recovery.Participate in security audits by assisting investigators in gathering and documenting evidence.Experience in implementing DB2 LUW advanced features: HADR, range partitioning, compression, and BLU technologies.Should have the intellect to resolve complex problems logically and methodically, and good judgment to involve and communicate with vendors, internal teams, and management.Knowledge of other infrastructure technologies - e.g., Unix/AIX OS and storage subsystems and networking.Ability to write complex shell scripts (kornshell, perl, etc.) for database maintenance automation and testing.Monitors and refines processes, procedures, and systems to optimize effectiveness and/or integrity and recommends and/or implements improvements.Competency in ITIL processes: Incident, Problem, Knowledge, and Change Management.Helpful Skills:Knowledge of other database technologies: SQL Server, Oracle, Netezza.Knowledge of ETL and business intelligence tools: Informatica, Business Objects.Familiarity with Web Applications: WebSphere, process server.Agile/Scrum methodology knowledge.Equal Opportunity Employer
