Position OverviewThis position is for an Information Professional reporting to Collection Services at the Main Library. The Collection Services department handles purchasing all new materials and processing them when received. The department also includes Interlibrary Loan services.
Responsibilities
Produce cataloging services for library materials, including non-traditional items.
Oversee the Library of Things and non-traditional collections.
Perform maintenance, data entry, and quality control of library system catalog.
Process patron purchase requests.
Provide public services to library users by addressing patron concerns and suggestions about the collection, catalog, or library services.
Supervise one or more full-time equivalent employees.
Contribute to collection maintenance activities.
Assist in staff coverage at different branch locations.
Serve as the Person in Charge for the day at different locations, overseeing the library, addressing patron complaints, and enforcing the Code of Conduct during designated shifts.
Information Professionals uphold the mission and values of the library system when performing these duties by following library policies and procedures while providing excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
