You’ll do the best work of your career right here at Comcast.Job SummaryAs a Network Application Operations Engineer 2, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring Comcast’s infrastructure and applications run smoothly. You’ll be collaborating with various teams and using cutting-edge tools to maintain and support critical systems. This role supports 65 different applications (Linux, Unix, and Windows Servers) for application and monitoring support.What You’ll Do:Design and implement enterprise network solutions tailored to our customer’s needs.Support internal and external teams ensuring our projects are done correctly the first time, follow change management, and meet documentation requirements while supporting our operating principles.Manage multiple long-term projects throughout the market to ensure enterprise goals are being met in a timely manner.Create system architecture, design, and specifications within engineering projects and initiatives using solid engineering skills and knowledge to solve moderate to difficult development problems.Strive to achieve Company business objectives and engineering objectives in daily activity, adhering to established company procedures and processes.Document results of applied work processes and practical application of technical standards, reporting results to management.Work with limited supervision, familiarizing self with company goals and strategies to achieve short-term goals.Exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.Maintain regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.What You’ll Need:BS degree required in Information Technology or other technology-related field.Understanding of Cisco 4510, 9300, 9400 switches and layer 2 technology, Juniper ex4300 platform, and Cisco wireless access points.Understanding of basic cabling such as Category 6 cable, Single mode and multimode fiber optics cables.Understanding of IP subnetting.Organizational skills and good documentation abilities.Solid business communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with internal users and business units.Employees at all levels are expected to:Understand our Operating Principles; make them the guidelines for how you do your job.Own the customer experience - think and act in ways that put our customers first, giving them seamless digital options at every touchpoint.Be enthusiastic learners, users, and advocates of our technology, products, and services.Work collaboratively as a team to achieve big goals.Participate in the Net Promoter System to elevate opportunities for improvement.Drive results and growth.Respect and promote inclusion & diversity.Do what's right for each other, our customers, investors, and our communities.Disclaimer:This information has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this role. Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a Bonus.
