THE ROLE: Principal Architect
About the role:
Presidio is hiring a
Principal Architect
to work with top-tier customers and promote
Data Modernization
and
Cloud Adoption . As a Principal Architect, you will partner with customers, Presidio Sales, partners, and other Presidio teams to create solutions that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of Cloud services. In collaboration with sales, you will drive revenue growth across a broad set of customers.
The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in consulting or cloud solution sales. You should have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges. We are looking for candidates comfortable at the intersection of business and technology. The Principal Architect is a technical pre-sales role. You must be broadly competent across many areas of technology (Cloud services, infrastructure, security, DevOps, databases, application development, or data analytics) and deep in at least one of those areas. Demonstrating your business acumen by connecting technology and service solutions with measurable business value is critical. The Principal Architect will spend a large portion of their time interacting with several customer stakeholders, including CxOs, product managers, architects, developers, engineers, and platform directors. In this role, we expect our Principal Architect to be customer obsessed and be able to establish themselves as a Trusted Advisor to our customers.
Travel Requirements:
In this role, you will be expected to travel up to 25%. It will be based in any location in the United States.
Responsibilities:
In partnership with the sales team, formulate and execute a sales strategy to exceed revenue objectives through the adoption of Cloud and Cloud Native Strategies.
As a key member of the sales cycle, ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services on Cloud platforms and partner solutions.
Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of Cloud and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud.
Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already operating in Cloud.
Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the solutions architect community.
Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals and key stakeholders within customer organizations to enable them to be cloud advocates.
Act as a technical liaison between customers, sales, service engineering teams, and partners.
Required Skills:
7+ years delivering consulting or advisory services.
8+ years of database engineering, data services development, or architecture experience.
Experience designing, operating, or building AWS, Google Cloud Platform AND/OR Microsoft Azure Solutions.
Working knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, data management, and warehousing solutions, frameworks, and methodologies.
Experience architecting and operating cloud-based data platforms and integration solutions in complex enterprise or consumer-focused environments.
Experience in presales or consulting roles working with large and complex customer environments.
Experience leading or delivering workshops and assessments focusing on data modernization or strategy.
Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with executives, IT Management, and developers.
Demonstrated thought leadership through publications and public speaking.
Excellent communication skills with an ability to align conversations to the audience.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn.
Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
Desired Skills:
Cloud Vendor Professional Certification (AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Cloud Architect).
Familiarity with Agile Frameworks (Scaled Agile, Kanban, Scrum) and enterprise architecture frameworks (Zachman, TOGAF), and service management frameworks (ITIL).
Familiarity with 3rd Party products for Integration Services (e.g., Workato, Mulesoft, Power Automate), or Software as a Service platforms (Databricks, Salesforce, SAP, Snowflake).
Cloud engineering, DevOps, and application architecture experience.
Industry-specific experience (healthcare, financial, manufacturing, media, or entertainment).
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and/or military experience.
Overall 10 years of experience.
