The data lake enables customers such as data engineers, business analysts, ML engineers, research scientists, economists and data experts to collect what they need via world-class self-service tools.Spektr Data Lake team in WW Advertising has a mission to provide unified experience for easy discovery and access to privacy compliant data that helps advertising business teams quickly generate insights with a vision to ‘build the world’s best & most cost efficient analytics platform.’ A Sr SDE on this team has a unique opportunity to create tech strategies, design and innovate solutions for this scale, delivering robust and scalable services built over Java leveraging AWS services as well as innovate with big data technologies like Spark, EMR, Athena and more. You will create value that materially impacts the speed and quality of decision making across the organization resulting in tangible business growth.Key job responsibilities
Engage with key stakeholders such as Product, Program Managers, Senior Managers to understand customer, business requirements and brainstorm on solutions. Drive tech strategy and decision making.Apply your technical expertise to solve complex software problems in a fast-paced environment.Strategize, design and launch services for medium-to-large scale projects across all areas of this Spektr Data lake core components. All with the goal of delivering a seamless experience to the customer.Provide guidance to and mentor other SDEs in the team. Ensure testability, maintainability and low operational footprint for the team.Participate in operational responsibilities with your team and ensure clear and accurate business metrics and operational metrics.A day in the life
As a Sr Software Development Engineer on this team, you will create strategies, software designs and implementation for medium-to-large scale projects across all ETL components that make up Publishing, Core ETL and data compliance charters. You will work directly with product management and program management to understand and define requirements and apply your technical expertise to solve complex software problems in a fast-paced environment. You'll design and build software and systems for novel customer experiences, AWS services, and large-scale back-end web services, all with the goal of delivering a seamless experience to the customer.About the team
