The
Software Engineering Technical and Appraisal Advisor
will support the
MSMAS
contract at
MSFC
in
Huntsville, AL.
The successful candidate will work with software engineering and software assurance to prepare the engineering organization for CMMI Level 3 appraisal and certification.
This is a part time position not to exceed 20 hours per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:The candidate will serve as subject matter expert in flight and ground software planning, development, process auditing and verification.The candidate will advise engineering as well as assist in developing and managing processes and procedures to ensure organizational compliance to CMMI best practices as well as NASA organizational standards and guidelines.The candidate will support technical interchange meetings and interface with stakeholder groups providing advice to program management on flight and ground software.The candidate will serve as an independent reviewer for key design and special-topic review teams as needed.Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED:This position requires US Citizenship due to the sensitivity of customer related information.Must have a
bachelor's degree
in the field of
software or aerospace engineering
or a related field.Must have
30+
years of recent and related NASA work experience.Must have direct NASA experience in flight software management and development.Strong knowledge of NASA NPR 7150.2 and CMMI Level 2 and 3 capability and practice areas.Must be able to map and drive achievable goals to support the successful appraisal and accreditation.
DESIRED:Conduct technical presentations.Provide a collaborative approach to problem solving across disparate organizations to devise cost effective solutions.
WORK LOCATION:This position offers a hybrid work schedule.This position may require some travel.
BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS REQUIRED:All Bastion employees must be able to pass a national agency check, some positions require a clearance and will require an extensive background verification/check process.
DRUG AND ALCOHOL SCREENING REQUIRED:All Bastion employees must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen; some contracts require participation in periodic random drug and alcohol screening programs.
STANDARD BASTION REQUIREMENTS:Must have experience with Microsoft Office Suite.All of Bastion's employees must be team players.Able to communicate effectively, verbally and in written form, with internal and external customers.Able to follow company programs, processes, procedures, practices, requirements, goals, and objectives.Must have a strong work ethic and must be safety culture oriented.Must be organized with good time management skills.Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time).May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).Regular attendance in accordance with an established work schedule is critical.Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
