Our priority location is Houston; however, we are seeking talented professionals interested in working in our Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio, and El Paso offices.Primary ResponsibilitiesAs a

Power Delivery Project Manager/Team Lead , your role will encompass the following:Establishing the primary local Power Delivery relationship with one or more local, strategic clients, including overseeing execution of projects, driving quality and delivery for that client, technical leadership, marketing new opportunities, and profitability to achieve business objectives.Managing and leading Power Delivery projects throughout the entire project life cycle, including scope and/or proposal development, project team development and assignment, project execution, project closeout, quality control, schedule, and budget management.Working independently and/or directing, mentoring, training, and/or supervising one or more Project Engineers, EITs, Designers, CADD Technicians, and administrative staff.Leading the QA/QC process on projects per HDR’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements with a commitment to delivering world-class quality.At times, being responsible for overseeing non-engineering components of projects, including public involvement, environmental permitting, right of way acquisition, construction management, and other services.Building, developing and supervising a local Power Delivery team and overseeing workload, quality, utilization, team morale, training, and performing annual performance reviews of team members.Leveraging existing staff across the company to execute work and delivering world-class services to clients in the Texas region.Collaborating with team members across the region and nationally and balancing staff workload, quality, utilization, team morale, and training.Establishing a network of relationships with technical peers in other offices and leveraging those relationships and resources for work-sharing opportunities.Coordinating with marketing and technical leadership in support of business development opportunities.Supporting, leading and engaging in broader business development activities for new opportunities with existing and target clients in the region.At times, travelling for business development and project execution purposes.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical or Architectural preferred).PE license and with the ability to obtain a Texas PE within 6 months.Minimum 7 years of experience with 5+ years of substation and/or transmission/distribution design experience.Minimum 2 years of experience managing projects.Previous experience managing and supervising staff.Proficient with Microsoft Office.Strong written and verbal communication skills.An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.Preferred QualificationsA minimum of 2 years of substation design and project management experience strongly preferred.Understanding of basic project management tools and techniques including contract types and project risk, work breakdown structures, project scope, schedule, and budget, financial management and controls, including earned value, and project closeout.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or ability to obtain it within 6 months, together with experience using project management tools, such as MSProject, a plus.Experience with distribution, transmission line, communication, and system projection and planning projects as well as public involvement, environmental permitting, and real estate acquisition would be an added benefit.Experience working with Renewables developers and/or the interconnection of Renewables a plus.Why HDRAt HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for; it's also about what you do and how you do it.
