The newly created Global Sovereign Cloud Delivery & Operations business unit is part of SAP Customer Services and Delivery with responsibility across the relevant Sovereign Cloud portfolio of SAP.WHAT YOU'LL DO:We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer (f/m/d) within the Shared Management Services (SMS) group in the Sovereign Cloud Technology & Engineering unit of the newly formed Customer Services & Delivery board area. In this role you will become a member of the Technology and Engineering team. You will be engaging with existing SAP Sovereign Cloud engineering and operations experts across a globally distributed team of highly motivated engineers responsible for the design, development, deployment, upgrade, and lifecycle management of the Sovereign Cloud SMS product.You will inspire innovation and drive execution of disciplined and standardized processes and tools, address mission-critical capability gaps and opportunities for maximized efficiency. You will help identify trade-offs in deployment plans and any key day-to-day operational decisions impacting infrastructure investments significantly. You will drive and manage backup and disaster recovery drills to ensure failure readiness.You will help the team to operate and improve our existing foundation and provisioning approach, create best practices, and innovate new options for the SMS. You need to ensure the team’s knowledge base is kept consistently up-to-date with native hyperscaler capabilities and modern infrastructure management tools. In order to do so, you will help to understand and document existing SAP Sovereign Cloud assets and processes. Starting from this status quo, you will design concepts for our infrastructure management on the global scale.This will involve significant coordination with the global Sovereign Cloud operations and engineering teams, our regional teams, and our hyperscaler provider partners.WHAT YOU'LL BRING:Bachelor’s degree in business, operations, or engineering or equivalent experienceAbility to manage through ambiguities while being innovative and collaborativeAbility to take a technical approach to design specifications of our large-scale networkStrong technology skills and the willingness to learn new topics quicklyStrong analytical research and problem-solving skillsAbility to think strategically, delivering services to meet stakeholders’ demands on a timely basisKnowledge of SAP and the SAP solution portfolio is a plusProvision and support new and existing cloud services through TerraformStrong conceptual skills paired with analytical thinkingProven ability to deliver against challenging timelinesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsStrong cultural awareness and intercultural competenciesAbility to build trusted relationshipsPersistence, self-motivation, and willingness to work under pressureEnglish (fluent), German is a plusWORK EXPERIENCEVery good understanding of cloud infrastructure related topicsMinimum 5 years of experience developing, managing, or deploying technical infrastructure at a global scale on Azure, AWS and/or GCP is a plusThorough understanding of infrastructure firewalls, load balancers, storage, monitoring, security, IAM etc. and have experience with orchestration to develop a cloud solutionMinimum 2 years of hands-on experience with infrastructure, application or database migrationWorking knowledge of Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, CI/CD tools and GIT is requiredUnderstanding of security technologies e.g., CAs, mTLS, oAuth, SSO Proxy, IDP, LDAP, TLS, PKI, WAFWorking knowledge of managing Kubernetes environmentsExperience with delivering products on Azure, AWS and/or GCP is a plusExperience with Sovereign Cloud or Gaia-X concepts is a plusExperience with infrastructure management of SAP solutions is a plusBring out your bestSAP innovations help more than four hundred thousand customers worldwide work together more efficiently and use business insight more effectively.
