We invite you to learn more about this and other opportunities at Landmark Credit Union.Nature and Scope:The Senior Applications Engineer is a pivotal team member dedicated to supporting critical business-facing applications, including core banking and other enterprise systems. With a customer-centric mindset, this role ensures seamless IT service delivery to enhance the productivity of Landmark's associates and members. As part of an application support team, the Senior Applications Engineer acts as a systems expert, collaborating with end users, infrastructure, and development teams, as well as a coach and mentor the Applications team. Reporting to the Manager, Software Operations, the Senior Applications Engineer is instrumental in maintaining operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience, preferably in an Analyst or Engineer role. Equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.A minimum of three years of experience with ITIL-based change, request, and incident management processes, or a similar IT service methodology.Proficiency in administering applications on Windows Server operating systems and cloud-hosted applications.Understanding of network & infrastructure fundamentals for application resolution and improvement suggestions.Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with the ability to work autonomously.Competency in SQL databases, including query writing for data analysis.Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., PowerShell, Python, VBScript, Bash)Must develop a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to the position. Must understand and comply with all job-related state and federal laws and regulations.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with core banking software, Fiserv DNA preferred, including application support and integration.Familiarity with various API integration methods, such as REST and SOAP, and how to effectively troubleshoot API performance and functionality.Experience using and configuring application monitoring tooling such as AppDynamics, New Relic, or SolarWinds.Advanced TSQL or PL/SQL competency, including complex query analysis, performance troubleshooting, and Index usage and maintenance.Experience administering apps using various types of application architecture (e.g. SOA, micro-services, monolith).Experience with source control and code repositories.Experience with coaching and mentoring junior or mid-level associates.Principal Accountabilities:Efficiently manage support issue intake, triage, and resolution, adhering to service level agreements.Lead complex projects and tasks through the project lifecycle, sometimes taking on the role of Project ManagerProvide work and project guidance to Application Team members, and foster a collaborative team environmentCollaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure optimal configuration, security, and updates of assigned applications.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applications and integrations, pursuing continuous training and certifications.Obtain a deep technical understanding of the application stack, and how they interact with external systems.Engage in software lifecycle discussions, proposing enhancements and identifying opportunities for long-term technology planning.Advocate for process improvements in software maintenance, identifying and implementing automation opportunities.Develop application testing and implementation guidelines to facilitate change processes.Provide secondary support for all enterprise applications, including those integrated with core banking and custom solutions.Find opportunities and develop source-controlled scripts to enhance application stability, repeatability, and automation.Create and maintain source-controlled code repositories and cross train team members on usage.Helps drive technical troubleshooting with a data driven approach and an open collaborative mindset.Participate in on-call rotations, responding promptly to emergency situations and performing maintenance tasks outside of regular hours.Takes initiative to coach and mentor immediate team members, and other IT members.Maintain precise documentation and perform other duties as assigned.EO/AA Employer; including veterans and individuals with disabilities.
