Wherever you contribute here at McKesson, you will have the ability to make a real impact in the lives of others.Current need:We are seeking an SAP S4 Principal Technical Architect to lead our SAP S4 ERP implementation and drive technical solutions, architecture, and roadmaps across our business units. This critical leadership role within McKesson Technology ERP Transformation will guide the technical architecture, development, and execution of the SAP S4 technology roadmap and implementation across McKesson BUs. The successful candidate will champion ERP modernization, automation, and technology transformation to support McKesson Technology's strategic goals.In this role, you will lead ERP architecture and technical teams from business requirements through design, development, integration, testing, analytics and rollout and collaborate with functional teams to implement a robust and scalable SAP S4 solution. As a thought leader and change agent, you must effectively communicate across varying levels of technology and business leadership and adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Your leadership will be pivotal in ensuring the successful deployment and optimization of the SAP S4 landscape, fostering ownership and accountability among key architects.Responsibilities:Leadership & Strategy:

Lead the SAP S4 transformation initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and technology strategies. Develop and execute a comprehensive technical roadmap for SAP S4 solutions.Solution Design:

Oversee the design and architecture of SAP S4, BTP, Datasphere and integrations with all other SAP and non-SAP applications in the landscape supporting solutions in Order to Cash, Supply Chain Management, and Finance processes. Ensure solutions are scalable, robust, and aligned with industry best practices.Collaboration:

Work closely with business partners, MT solution architects, SAP and System Integrator teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and drive implementation. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and innovation.Technical Project Management:

Lead and manage technical aspects of multiple SAP S4 full lifecycle implementations, ensuring solutions and technical deliverables are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. Monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure successful project outcomes.Governance & Compliance:

Ensure all SAP solutions adhere to regulatory requirements and internal governance policies. Implement best practices for data management, security, and compliance.Mentorship:

Provide guidance and mentorship to technical architects and other team members. Promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.Able to shape and deliver an upfront business value discovery phase of an S4 HANA program including the development of a business case and roadmap.Oversees design and development of ERP architecture (integrated process, applications, data, and technology) solutions to business problems in alignment with Enterprise architecture direction and standards.Advanced understanding and experience working with various development tools, design standards, best practices, and architecture frameworks.Responsible to lead ERP Program technical deliverables, milestones, and lead consensus discussions/ alignment on design decisions with key business & technical stakeholders.Partner with System Integrator technical teams and provide technical oversight, direction and expertise in all design decisions.Collaborates with the MT Principal Architects, Solution architects and Enterprise Architecture teams to help define Enterprise Solution requirements and project deliverables.Ability to shift between the “big picture” and project level details. Works through detailed issues when required.Actively communicates with leadership, project sponsors, key stakeholders, and project teams.Thorough understanding of project management methodologies and best practices; to include Activate, Scrum, Agile and Waterfall.Ability to quickly adapt to changing business requirements and their corresponding technologies.Minimum Requirements:Typically requires 13+ years, with 8+ years, of direct work-related experience.Critical Skills:Minimum 10 years of experience in large, global organization in senior technical leadership roles with progressive responsibility specifically in SAP S4 implementations.Proven experience in designing and managing the technical architecture for SAP S4, including system landscapes, infrastructure design, and high availability setups.Deep understanding and hands-on experience with integrating SAP S4 with other SAP and non-SAP systems using BTP Integration suite, SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI).Experience with custom development on the SAP BTP platform, including ABAP Cloud, SAP Fiori/UI5, BTP Build, and enhancement frameworks.Expertise in data migration strategies and tools (e.g., SAP Data Sphere, SAP Migration Cockpit) and experience managing large-scale data migration projects.Experience with both cloud-based and on-premises deployments of SAP S4, including knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or SAP Cloud Platform.Experience in implementing security best practices within the SAP landscape, including role-based access controls, audit compliance, and data protection.Experience in optimizing SAP S4 systems for performance, including tuning of database, application servers, and user experience.Deep knowledge of SAP S4 HANA architecture, including data modeling, CDS views, HANA database, and in-memory computing concepts.Additional Skills:Experience in the Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical, distribution industry is a plus.Knowledge of emerging technologies and their application in ERP solutions.Strong business acumen and ability to align IT strategies with business goals.Demonstrated ability to manage large technical teams and architects.Ability to motivate and influence leaders and teams without direct authority.Financial acumen and ability to make data driven decisions.Experience conducting presentations and training.Strong PowerPoint, Smartsheet, Excel skills.Ability to interact with multiple levels of management.Education:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.We are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson as part of our Total Rewards.
