Civil Project Engineer

in our

Bettendorf, IA

office. As a

Civil Project Engineer , you will be responsible for assisting Project Managers with detailed engineering analysis in the preparation of engineering reports, permit applications, and construction plan preparation. You will direct and train Civil Design Technicians and/or Civil Designers.Independently evaluate, plan, and conduct work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. You may devise new alternatives/approaches to problems encountered and perform difficult and technically challenging work with a specialty area. You may exercise project leadership in a technical or managerial way on certain projects or oversee portions of large projects.Some key duties and responsibilities include:Drafting procedures and system requirements of clients.Coordination of municipal, transportation, traffic, and other disciplines.Complete permit applications for a variety of municipalities.Geometric pavement and site circulation design.Preparation of specifications & cost estimates.Traffic warrants and guardrail warrants.An understanding of materials and methods.The ability to interpret state and local design criteria and apply it to the specific project needs.Regularly has work assignments checked by peer or supervisor.Direct and train Civil Designers to assist in completing reports, exhibits, plans, and specifications and permit applications as required by the projects contractual scope.Ability to consistently produce high-quality construction documents.Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:Mastery knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans and drawings;Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in construction;Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs and AutoCAD Civil 3D software;Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.Education and experience requirements are:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering;Professional Engineer license;Minimum 6 years of progressive experience of engineering design in an engineering firm.This position is not eligible for sponsorship.IMEG Corp. , an employee-owned corporation, is committed to investing in employees’ futures through professional development programs and opportunities for career advancement.
