Adapt the OpenShift Installation tool, which automates complex infrastructure deployments across many cloud providers, to new hardware, focusing on improving performance and resolving problems.*Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from the Red Hat, Inc. office in Raleigh, NC.
What You Will Do:Maintain OpenShift Installation codebase written in the Go programming language, which involves fixing problems with both the product code and test code and creating new features under the guidance of a mentor.Work with the Openshift Installer team and gathering metrics from the installer code to Prometheus to get a sense of how the user uses the installer and where they face problems.Create operators with Openshift on Kubernetes clusters, create custom Docker images, and customize disk types in the Azure and GCP cloud platforms from the Openshift installer code base.Develop and maintain multiple components of Red Hat OpenShift. Implement and maintain continuous integration testing for OpenShift deployment features.What You Will Bring:Bachelor’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related role.Must have two (2) years of experience with: Python and GoLang programming languages; Kubernetes and understanding of Kubernetes architecture; continuous integration frameworks; Hardware management, operations and networking; large-scale deployment architectures and debugging problems in complex loosely coupled environments; and test-driven development as well as unit testing frameworks and methodologies.The salary range for this position is $90,480 - $144,660. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.Pay TransparencyRed Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity.
