This position will be out of Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO.Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications Experimentation Laboratory (C2BMC X-Lab) is fast-paced and dynamic. The X-Lab is responsible for developing and integrating future-capability prototypes for the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS), including Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, and other critical leading-edge missile defense technologies. The X-Lab needs to augment the team with a mid-level Software Engineer.Essential Functions:
Plan, conduct, and coordinate software development activities.Design, develop, document, test, and debug software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions utilizing data processing equipment.Apply the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle.Apply computer hardware and software knowledge, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software.Correct program errors, prepare operating instructions, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.Ensure software standards are met.Possess an understanding of software development processes and principles and be able to communicate the desired capabilities to developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and system users.Experience with both Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems.Basic Qualifications:
Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume if applicable.An active Secret clearance is required to start with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.5 years experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Physics, or a related field; 3 years experience with a Master's degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Physics, or a related field.Must possess a DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)Must have strong experience with Java or C++ software development.The selected candidate will maintain DoD 8570 certification for the full contract period.Work hours are standard office hours, though occasional nights and weekends may be required during special events.Preferred Qualifications:
Active TS/SCI clearance is highly desired.Experience with software testing or software integration.Ability to refactor code for an object's reusability, readability, and maintainability.Oriented codebase.Experience in application deployment, integration, and troubleshooting.Experience with Eclipse IDE, Maven, and Git.Ability to adapt to changing requirements and design challenges that require novel solutions, fast-paced activities, and tight deadlines.Ability to work well in a team environment.What We Can Offer You:

Salary Range:
$97,500 - $146,300The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
