A new age in healthcare technology has just begun.The primary purpose of the Systems Analyst role is to collaborate with clinical staff to identify user needs and design innovative IT solutions to customize and enhance functionality for clinical and business applications through PIH Health in Whittier, CA. Provide technical support, database maintenance support to maintain existing applications and work on SQL reports/queries as needed. Participate in functional and integrated testing of all software upgrades, enhancements, service packs and hotfixes.Responsibilities:
Work under the direction of the Manager to provide technical application solutions for assigned business areasPossess technical knowledge of assigned application technologyWork with Business Analyst to understand the customer’s product-specific requirements and configuration and translate them to technical design specifications and data flow from which programs are developed and codedCodes, tests, debugs, implements, and documents programs or technical configurationEnsure programs meet technical specifications and standardsInteract with Business and clinical representatives during the software build or configuration and testing processPerform technical application configuration and configure/run reports at user requestDesign and execute unit, system, and integration test plans for new developments/releases/reportsMaintain technical documentation based on standard operating procedures in support of the assigned applicationPerform application maintenance activitiesProvide production supportAssist in resolving support calls escalated by the Service DeskIdentify the common causes of the defects, prioritize them, and systematically remove them so that they do not reoccur in further development workCoordinate with Project Managers to ensure project deadlines are metPartner with vendor to proactively support the solutionParticipate in focus groups and workshops, attend vendor training and demonstrationsQualifications:
Academic and Professional Qualifications:
BA or BS degree preferred or other relevant combination of training and experience.Experience:
2-5 years practical experience in providing technical and application support, software development or related activity on clinical acute or ancillary productsExperience with SQL preferredExcellent client-facing skills with the ability to thrive in a highly critical, complex environmentHealth IT or banking experience a plusTravel Requirements:
May require local travelMay require other travel for business needsWorking Arrangements:
