ResponsibilitiesPeraton is hiring a Systems Engineer - Modeling and Algorithms who oversees and works at a high-visibility level on design and digital simulation testing. This position is located in Huntsville, AL with a hybrid option.
What you'll do:
Conduct research in design, testing, and utilization of software and data processing algorithms/high fidelity models used in ASE products.
Work with vendors to understand algorithm design, implementation, and testability.
Provide feedback to vendors on algorithm design and implementation.
Liaison with outside Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on algorithm and product performance.
Able to understand and execute a Digital System Model (DSM) and other simulations.
Understand performance requirements and system capabilities.
Support validation and verification of performance requirements using DSM or other simulation and modeling tools.
Work with the test team to validate and understand field data using a DSM and simulations.
Design, develop, and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes and consequences of design.
Review vendor algorithm design and deliverables.
Create, maintain, and review Algorithm Description Documentation (ADD).
Create scripts and tools to automate or assist in testing (e.g., modifications to the DSM or other test tools).
Understand machine learning (ML) concepts, methodologies, and implementations.
QualificationsWhat you'll need:
Education: Minimum of 5 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 3 years with MS/MA.
Clearance: Active Secret clearance.
Understand DSM or simulation creation, execution, and use in system performance modeling.
Knowledge of ML methodologies and implementation.
Able to work in a dynamic team environment while balancing various priority tasks.
Fluent in the Microsoft Office toolset.
Fluent in C, C++, and Python.
Able to work from the customer facility on a regular basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a DoD acquisition project management office is a plus.
Software or systems design for DoD systems is a plus.
Background in modeling, simulation, algorithm design or test, data science/analysis, or machine learning.

Target Salary Range$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
