DCE Technical Analyst

to join our

Central Metering Department , located in

Houston, Texas .You will have the ability to:

analyze and monitor key technical and business processes associated with the Automated Metering System (AMS). Participate in the development and knowledge transfer of the AMS Metering Systems projects/enhancements/operations that focus on creative analysis and solutions for diagnostic troubleshooting of the AMS Metering DCE (Data Collection Engine), RF Lan, and Open Way Meter. This job may include any aspect of field support, and is not limited to system hardware, firmware, PC's or network communication devices.Essential Functions

To be successful in this role you will:Interpret AMS system diagnostic data and clarify if the responsibility for problem resolution falls to back office, vendor, contractor, or field employees.Participate in knowledge transfer of new technology and training from vendors.Develop and conduct training on the DCE operation with other employees as needed.Provide back office or on-site technical assistance to investigate and troubleshoot equipment.Review performance diagnostics, reports, and documentation from vendors, contractors, and other employees.Analyze data and inspection findings to determine the source of the problem, recommend repair or replacement or other corrective action.Collect and analyze historic data regarding issues/problems that arise periodically within AMS and recommend solutions to management.Collaborate with vendor on changing hardware and firmware and the impacts to AMS System.Monitor DCE and peripheral equipment to process AMS meter exceptions up to 20,000/day.Modify or develop SQL queries to run against relational databases and analyze data to identify issues.Create or modify AMS/DCE system and processes related documentation.Develop and document test plans/cases in preparation for meter firmware changes or system upgrades.Education Description

Your background includes:Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, or related field from an accredited college or university.In lieu of a degree, will consider a combination of education and related experience in computer science, business administration, or related field totaling four (4) years, where each year of applicable college = 1 year and each year of applicable work experience = 0.5 year. Experience in lieu of education is in addition to the Experience requirements.Experience

Requires a minimum of three years working as a business or technical analyst, operating in analytical or engineering applications.Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products with a heavy emphasis on Excel and Access.Working knowledge of reading, writing, and running SQL queries is required.Knowledge of SAP and SAP Business Objects CIS is preferred.Previous experience adapting and integrating system upgrades and third-party software into current processes.We want you to know:
