Internationally known, Sterling Vineyards is one of the most visited wineries in Napa Valley. Modeled after a Greek monastery, the winery sits 300 feet above the valley floor where visitors take an aerial tram to access the top-quality Bordeaux varietals and majestic 360-degree views of Napa Valley. Closed in September 2020 following the Glass Fire that affected much of the area, Sterling will be re-opening to guests in October 2023 complete with a new gondola system, re-imagined visitor spaces and a fresh take on Napa Valley hospitality.About the role
Sterling Vineyards is looking for On Call / Part Time Tasting Room Associates with a background in customer service, a good eye for detail, and truly enjoys fostering a wonderful experience for every guest that visits the property. As a Hospitality Sales Associate, you will be the main point of contact for our guests, so a polite, friendly, and energetic demeanor is a must.Key Responsibilities
Set-up and host wine tastings and tours for guestsSell wine, merchandise and wine clubs to meet or exceed monthly sales targetsCollaborate with co-workers to provide a superior guest experienceProvide service and hospitality that exceeds our competitors and our guests' expectationsStay current on Sterling Vineyards wines and customer offeringsBe engaged and active in the local wine industry community - know our marketBe informed on local hospitality offerings and make recommendations to guestsParticipate in TWE training programsStrive for WISE triple score sales and service resultsOpen, close and operate cash registersAssist in events, private dinners and various site activitiesAssist Wine Inventory and Merchandise Dept. with restocking, inventory and floor upkeepFollow site policies and procedures including but not limited to: Opening and closing, inventory of merchandise and wine, etc.Act as a backup for other Hospitality Sales Associates who are conducting tastings and toursAbout you
Must be 21 years of ageExemplary customer service skillsPassionate about wineSales and conversion via hospitality and knowledgeStrong presentation skills with the ability to relay their knowledge of wines and wine productionDynamic communication skills & positive attitudeMust have a clean professional appearance and excel in intercommunications and interactionsAbility to start a project and carry through to successful implementationKnowledge of food and wine, the wine industry, Sonoma, Napa and Bay Area restaurantsThis position must work weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday), some holidays and eveningsMust be able to lift 50 lbs (a case of wine)Culture

The base pay range offered for this position is $21 to $26 per hour. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. Our expectation is that the incumbent will work out of the Calistoga CA area. If the incumbent works out of another location, the wage rate may fall above or below this range. Treasury reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
