Collect, organize, and manage autonomy data from test events involving Group 1-5 aircraft. Develop and maintain databases and repositories for storing flight data, ensuring data integrity and accessibility. Implement data cleaning and preprocessing techniques to ensure data quality prior to analysis.Data Analysis and Insights:
Analyze large sets of flight data to identify trends, anomalies, and performance metrics related to autonomous systems. Apply statistical and machine learning methods to extract meaningful insights from raw data. Collaborate with autonomy developers to translate data insights into actionable improvements for autonomy software and algorithms. Utilize tools such as Python, MATLAB, or similar to create custom analysis scripts and automate data processing pipelines.Reporting and Visualization:
Develop clear and concise reports summarizing the findings from test events, including key metrics, performance benchmarks, and areas for improvement. Create visual representations (plots, graphs, dashboards) of autonomy performance data to facilitate better understanding and decision-making by development teams. Communicate complex technical data to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing actionable recommendations for system optimization.Test Event Support:
Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of flight tests to ensure relevant autonomy data is collected. Work closely with test engineers, pilots, and software developers to ensure accurate data capture during test events. Troubleshoot data collection issues and ensure high fidelity of autonomy data from test flights.Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including software developers, systems engineers, and test personnel, to align data analysis efforts with project goals. Stay updated on the latest developments in autonomous systems, data analysis techniques, and aerospace technologies to ensure best practices are applied. Propose and implement improvements to data collection and analysis processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in future tests.Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure all data collection and reporting complies with relevant industry regulations and safety standards. Maintain thorough documentation of data analysis procedures, findings, and recommendations for future reference.Minimum QualificationsEducation Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/related Engineering field.3+ years of hands-on experience working in the DoD developing and optimizing autonomous systems for aircraft.Technical Requirements:
Strong proficiency with Python, MATLAB, R, and Data Visualization.Additional Requirements:
Passion for solving complex problems with little supervision in a fast-moving team. Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, frequently changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment. Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple teams.Travel Requirements:
Must be willing to travel as projects require. Estimated average travel is once every other month for between 2 days up to 1 week. (~20%)Location Requirements:
This position requires that you be located within a drivable distance to Fort Walton Beach and Eglin Air Force Base in the Gulf Coast of Florida. The position is still hybrid: expect 1-2 days a week to be in the office, 2-3 days a week at home.Security Requirements:

An active U.S. SECRET security clearance with Special Access Program Eligibility.$140,000 - $160,000 a yearOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $140,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $160,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. EpiSci is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
