The Antenna & Microwave Department is searching for an experienced engineer to serve as the DBR TRIMM (Transmit/Receive Integrated Microwave Modules) Sub Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL).

Dual Band Radar (DBR) is a radar system used by the U.S. Navy that can operate on two frequency ranges simultaneously, S-band and X-band. It combines the capabilities of the X-band AN/SPY-3 Multifunction Radar and the S-band Volume Surveillance Radar (VSR). The radar has multiple capabilities including simultaneous Air Breathing Threat (ABT) and Theatre Ballistic Missile (TBM) defense, multiple target fire control capabilities and advanced ECM capabilities.

The candidate would join the Antenna & Microwave Department, which is focused on leading electrical design, development, and hardware integration and testing of some of the most innovative land-based, mobile, and shipboard radars in the world.

Team leadership skills including cost and schedule management plus proposal writing and presentation experience are desired.

What You Will Do

Lead experience for both development and production.

Some travel to integration sites, plus customer and subcontractor facilities, may be required.

Drive adherence to program plans and schedules, accurately measure and report on progress, identify potential problems in sufficient time for corrective action to be taken, and ensure the delivery of contractual commitments.

Close management of design completion while balancing resulting performance with the ability to meet the customer's critical schedule requirements.

Regular review of program status including tracking and review by both Engineering and Program Leadership.

Qualifications You Must Have

Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).

Eight (8) years of relevant experience combined in the following areas:

Microwave/RF system, subsystem and component analysis, design and test.

Hands-on experience with electromagnetic simulation tools such as HFSS, ADS, CST, Mentor Graphics’ Xpedition and analytical tools such as Matlab.

Experience leading cross-functional teams including members from Engineering, Operations, Global Supply Chain, and Quality through hardware development, production, and test including system test.

Experience with transitioning products to production and the ability to lead a design release into production.

Experience in leadership positions.

Experience managing diverse and complex tasks across competing priorities.

Experience leading and participating in design and development activities.

Experience working and leading both technical and cost proposals.

Experience with earned value management and other program management skills (IMP, IMS, R&O, etc.).

Experience implementing Risk and Opportunity Management.

Experience presenting challenging program and technical issues to senior leadership internally and externally.

The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Value

6 years of relevant professional experience managing and/or leading cross-functional teams.

Advanced degree in Engineering discipline.

Experience leading and growing/developing teams.

Experience working with customers to develop/negotiate SOW requirements and scope.

Proven ability to interface with customers and lead programmatic and technical discussions to closure.

Experience leading and participating in production and test activities.

EV Certified or able to achieve EV certification within the first year.

PMX Level 6 Certified and able to achieve PMX Level 4 Certification within two years.

IPDS knowledge and experience.

Raytheon Technologies process improvement i.e., CORE/Six Sigma Certification.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written.

Collaborate in teams or independently, flexible, demonstrates initiative.

Experience in agile hardware development and managing using SCRUM.

DBR program knowledge and history, knowledge of any of the MEIs is a plus.

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
