We are currently looking for a Mid-Career Systems Engineer to join our team in Long Beach, CA applying Systems Engineering – Airworthiness principles, tools, and techniques to a continuing series of upgrades and improvements to the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft.Position Responsibilities:
Apply Systems Engineering principles, tools and techniques to the Design, Technical Documents, Testing, and Certification of aircraft.Ability to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area.Knowledge of aircraft systems, components, and loadable/non-loadable software.Skill and ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data; summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.Knowledge of verification, validation, certification and qualification processes and procedures, including knowledge of governing regulations and compliance requirements.Ability to assess and document test or analysis data to show compliance.Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.Develops, maintains and identifies improvements for the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.Resolves cross-functional technical issues.This position requires the ability to obtain an active U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.) An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Requirements
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):• 3+ years of experience in a dedicated Systems Engineering role• Experience with Systems Engineering tools• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Experience with any of the following is desired:• 1+ years of experience applying systems engineering principles during the development of complex hardware/software solutions on an aerospace platform• 1+ years of experience assisting in any of the following engineering areas: analyses for cyber security, requirements analysis, requirements management, design review process, risk management, airworthiness certification, or any other specialties engineering discipline
