Eaton’s Corporate Division is hiring a AI Strategic Initiatives Leader in Beachwood OH, Smyrna GA, Galesburg MI, Southfield MI, Charlotte NC, Raleigh NC, Moon Township PA, Houston TX, Dallas TX or Menomonee Falls WI. This position requires 30% travel.
What you'll do:This AI Strategic Initiatives Leader will play a key role as a member of the Partnerships, Innovation, and Transformation value chain and reports to the Innovation Product Director.
The AI Strategic Initiatives Leader is responsible for successfully driving the adoption and integration of Eaton’s strategic artificial intelligence (AI) initiatives. This includes identifying the top needle moving opportunities for AI, defining business impacts, developing business cases, pitching ideas and securing investment, and overseeing the execution, adoption, and successful value capture. You will build executive level relationships with functions including Sales, Marketing, SCM, Engineering, IT, HR, Operations, and Legal. Understand their strategic goals, key initiatives, and challenges. Build credibility and trust through empathy, expertise, and partnership, delivering value to the customer through the unique and tailored application of AI, business process transformation, and automation.
In addition, this leader will partner with the Intelligent Automation and AI Ops value stream for solution delivery along with other IT value streams to further accelerate the adoption and impact of AI across Eaton. This is a team sport and will require heavy collaboration, negotiation, and compromise. This role cannot be successful going it alone. You will participate as a key member of the AI Council on the Innovation workstream, including regular report outs on initiatives, investment reviews, etc.
As the AI Strategic Initiatives leader, you will cultivate game changing approaches and initiatives utilizing AI, business process transformation, and other new and emerging technologies to drive significant value, productivity, and transformation at Eaton. You will develop strategic solutions to complex problems based on limited information throughout innovation and when possible, game changing approaches to how Eaton operates.
The leader will work to drive culture change within IT to push for the adoption of new ways of working and new technology solutions to support them. Working with a high level of ambiguity to make sense of new technology, data, and processes, quickly assimilating and determining a structured approach to review and or implement.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop, execute, and own top strategic AI and business process transformation initiatives.
Collaborate and build relationships with Eaton businesses, functions, and IT Value Chains to accelerate the adoption and value realization of AI and business process transformation.
Leverage design thinking techniques and ability to conduct sessions with businesses and functions, including senior and executive leaders, to understand their true needs and challenges. Develop new and creative approaches to solve them.
Cultivate innovation, experimentation, and employee engagement to drive business results and learning throughout the organization.
Communicate with stakeholders from the shopfloor to senior executives in a way that technical and non-technical employees can easily understand. Includes explaining how new technologies can be leveraged and what benefits can be expected. Acts as an evangelist for innovation and new technologies.
Translates business or function strategy into plans and guides their execution. Accountable for developing and executing the strategy and for the results which impact the targeted functions and Eaton as a whole.
Qualifications:Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field, advanced degree strongly preferred.
Minimum 10 years of major program, transformation, or other digital related leadership.
Minimum 10 years of manufacturing industry experience working at or supporting a global matrix organization.
Minimum 2 years of demonstrated AI leadership, strategy, or execution experience.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S without company sponsorship now or in the future.
No relocation is offered for this position. All candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Beachwood OH, Smyrna GA, Galesburg MI, Southfield MI, Charlotte NC, Raleigh NC, Moon Township PA, Houston TX, Dallas TX or Menomonee Falls WI.
Preferred Qualifications:
Practical knowledge of and experience working within agile scrum and/or Kanban delivery teams.
Working understanding of DevOps and modern technology architecture principles including APIs, microservices, and cloud services.
Comprehensive and deep experience across multiple areas of expertise - business functions (i.e., Finance, SCM, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, etc.).
Experience with new and emerging technologies from proof of concept to production.
Proven track record of success with artificial intelligence AI initiatives, including machine learning, Gen AI, etc.
Skills:
Strong curiosity, creativity, and ability to work with different levels of the organization including senior executives.
Ability to quickly learn new technologies and paradigms such AI/ML, generative AI, digital twins, simulation, and whatever comes next.
Ability to analyze data across domains to discover trends and inform decisions.
Ability to define and execute on a minimum viable product level and willingness to quickly identify when it’s time to pivot away from a technology or experiment, the ability to fail and learn.
Ability to work with multiple cultures, functions, and regions as well as with technical and non-technical audiences.
English proficiency on both verbal and written communication, other languages desired.
Communications skills - Conveys complex information to technical and non-technical audiences including executives, develops communication strategies, and persuades significantly diverse audiences (technical and non-technical). Reconciles multiple stakeholder perspectives to resolve conflicts.
