San Antonio, TXWhat will you be doing?As a DevOps Engineer, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on DoD cleared DevOps Engineers joining our team to support our customer in San Antonio, TX. The Engineer is an active participant in Agile development teams and meetings.RESPONSIBILITIES:Automate and optimize service deploymentsManage and maintain the life cycle of Kubernetes clusters.Integrate with enterprise authentication servicesEstablish and improve system monitoring while maintaining established security protocols within development, test, and production systems.Architect, build and maintain on-premise and/or cloud infrastructure to support team and customer initiativesMaintain and improve existing infrastructure (build out autoscaling, support new services, optimize for cost efficiencies/authentication/search, etc.)Monitor capacity and plan for scalabilityAdminister production, staging, and development environmentsManage and aggregate server logs and monitor for security and system-related incidentsMonitor and analyze system performance, such as server load and resource usageMaintain and improve existing build and deployment processes using CI/CD toolsDeploy and configure applications using Helm and/or YAML.Apply configuration management disciplines to maintain software revisions, security patches, hardening, and documentationEnforce best practices for security and reliability, and drive security initiatives, like RBAC, SIEM, vulnerability testing, and network policies.Work with A&A Teams to maintain security requirements for operation of systemsMaintain up-to-date documentation of designs/configurations, ensuring team members have continuity of recurring tasksMaintain status of operations at all times: perform after actions reporting on all outages and work with engineering teams to determine solutions and root cause analysis. Present findings to management for prioritization and taskingCreate and determine required metrics for dashboards and service healthFollow up on engineering tasks for operational solutions, and validate completionTroubleshoot and debug issues in containerized environments.Manage operational readiness board – present at weekly meetings and determine if development services are ready for automation based on best practices and maintainabilityTrack and ensure routine operations maintenance tasks are completed in a timely mannerAlign with the customer's strategiesUtilize the customer's enterprise DevSecOps pipelineWork with other service providers to support areas of common interestOn-call support may be requiredQUALIFICATIONS:4+ years and Bachelor's Degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience3+ years of related systems programming experienceExperience maintaining an operational environment and use of monitoring tools and dashboard interfaces (e.g., Kibana, Grafana, Nagios)Experience working with and troubleshooting issues with container images and platforms (Kubernetes/Docker/OpenShift/Rancher)Strong understanding of DevOps and software/application development processesUnderstanding of GitLab, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Elastic, Rancher, and other DevOps/Continuous Integration tools for KubernetesExperience deploying applications using AWS GovCloud ServicesUnderstanding of microservice design and architectural pattern best practicesUnderstanding of Python, Bash, and Shell scriptingKnowledge of network technologies, common infrastructure components, load balancers, firewalls, virtual and physical infrastructure designStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsMust possess excellent time management skills and the drive to work unsupervisedExperience with deploying to on-prem/data center infrastructureExperience using Jira and Confluence on a daily basisActive Secret clearance required, preferred TS/SCI ClearanceExperience in building processes for deploying to a Kubernetes-based environment using Helm and/or YAML.Understanding of access management and security groups (i.e., IAM, S3 bucket, SSH, VPN, etc.)Ability to write and use unit and functional testingDiversity, Equity, and Inclusion is more than a commitment at WWT – it is the foundation of what we do.
