The
2025 Eversource Engineering Professional Development Program
is designed to provide our Associate Engineers with an opportunity for career development, training, and varied work experience. The program is 2 years in duration and provides everyone an opportunity to gain experience working in at least two different engineering areas. The program will start in June 2025.System Planning
has the task of making sure that Eversource’s future bulk power system serves our customers safely and reliably and meets applicable reliability National and local State Interconnection Standards. The group must look ahead between 1 and 10 years into the future to determine what upgrades are needed in order for the transmission and distribution system to comply with the local State regulatory requirements as well as complying with National and Regional Standards.Areas of System Planning include:Distribution System PlanningDistributed Energy Resources PlanningReliability and Resiliency PlanningTransmission System PlanningTransmission System Distributed Energy Resources PlanningModelingIntegrated Energy PlanningEssential Functions:Provides engineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis and resolution of problems of increasing scope and complexity in both inside as well as outside the scope of typical responsibility.Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities; decisions may affect the operations or results of the work group and may have some impact on major projects or department results.Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches related to defined problems and analysis of increasing scope and complexity.Conducts engineering and related studies; completes non-routine engineering projects with minimal oversight with the ability to independently manage project schedules and interfaces; possesses and applies the fundamental engineering concepts, practices and procedures; proficient in technical and analytical competencies necessary to handle assignments of increasing complexity.Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities.Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.Maintains accurate records and files.Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally.Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:Technical Knowledge/Skill:Experience with code development in MATLAB is required.Experience with the Statistics and Machine Learning Toolbox and Database Toolbox in MATLAB are preferred.Experience with Power System simulation with MATLAB's Simulink/Simscape are preferred.Education:
B.S. in Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical.Experience:
0-2 years.Working Conditions:Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.Depending on the specific nature of the engineering role, position may require occasional to significant travel by car.
