Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector is looking for you to join our team as a Software Engineer based out of Aurora, CO.
What You’ll Get to Do:
We are looking for a Software Engineer experienced in Java who wants to work on an agile development team using modern development practices tackling both new development and operational support of systems that advance National Security. Our Aurora campus has numerous programs in all phases of the development and operational lifecycle, from smaller single scrum team efforts to larger multi-team efforts. Many of our programs use a micro-service event-driven architecture with Docker Containers, Kubernetes, Helm charts, and AWS services. There are needs for front-end, back-end, and full-stack developers. We are flexible and career growth-focused, permitting staff to deepen skills on one program or seek other internal opportunities over time.
About Our Organization:
As a Software Engineer, you'll be joining our growing Aurora Software and Digital Engineering department, which has 200+ peers from entry-level to the most senior chief engineers and architects. Principal Software Engineers frequently take on informal and formal technical leadership roles within their programs. We have plenty of opportunity for career advancement into higher-level technical roles or leadership positions. Our Software Department is part of a larger organization that includes Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test staff as well as a Hardware Engineering unit.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Science with 15+ years of software development experience; 12+ years with a Master's; or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
Experience as a front-end, back-end, or full-stack developer.
Experience developing on teams using Agile methodology, process, and tools.
Experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting in Java.
Experience using object-oriented design.
Experience using version control software.
Current Top Secret/SCI security clearance required to apply.
Candidate must be able to obtain a Counterintelligence Polygraph (CI-Poly).
Preferred Qualifications:
Front-end experience and/or interest in using JavaScript frameworks (VueJS).
Working in an Agile environment.
Developing using microservice architecture in a Cloud environment.
Experience and/or developing with AWS.
Space/Space Missions Domain Knowledge.
Experience with Rest & JMS.
Data processing knowledge.
Git, Maven, Helm, Harbor.
Experience with Robot Framework, Cucumber, or another Automated Test Framework.
Proclivity for SW/Microservice Architecture and Design.
Full-stack (or with back-end experience and interest in learning front-end).
Salary Range:
$157,500 - $236,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
