Responsibilities:
Design and plan network systems, providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
Deliver specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for efficient solutions.
Coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment and troubleshoot problems with users and network administrators.
Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing.
Provide technical analysis in data network planning, engineering, and design.
Participate as a Subject Matter Expert in internal review of software components and systems.
Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
Subject matter expert (SME) in one discipline/field and developing working knowledge in adjacent disciplines/fields.
Ability to develop and provide innovative and creative solutions to complex problems.
Strong understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
Capable of working on complex problems requiring in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field.
Clearance Requirements:Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at the time of hire. Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
