Full-time positionJob Responsibilities:The Junior Web Developer creates and updates survey content, navigates specification documents in Word, Excel, and/or PDF, and communicates directly with sponsors.Ensures all pages are 508 compliant, creates and updates features of the survey, and writes basic code.Monitors tracker for in-testing surveys and fixes issues as needed for testers.Works on surveys from beginning to end, from the initial specification documents through its life on the production server.Creates and updates survey content testing and verifies a survey's existence on production.Communicates directly with each sponsor about expectations and clarifying any ambiguous text in the specifications.Basic Linux navigation is required (text editor, run scripts).Verifies forms and behind-the-scenes calculations for each survey in Perl.Navigates surveys to corresponding PDF forms in Acrobat Pro.Creates/updates features based on sponsor requirements, which may involve copying an implementation from another survey or building a new function.Using Perl code, adds a JS plugin to a survey and parses data for information that impacts user navigation.Tests and fixes bugs, monitoring the tracker for each in-testing survey.Runs load scripts to test and submits tickets for actual changes.Demonstrates good problem-solving and communication skills.Exhibits a willingness to proactively ask questions outside of their comfort zone.Performs some manual work with HTML and CSS, although most pages are generated using an internal forms library.Required Skills:A basic understanding of how databases function, writing basic code in Perl and JavaScript, the ability to work independently, take on responsibilities outside their comfort zone, and grasp technical concepts quickly and efficiently. Good communication skills and a B.S. Degree in Computer Science or related field are highly preferred.Additional Information
