Lead System Project Engineer - Renewable Energy

This position can be located anywhere in the U.S. with a Ramboll office.As our Lead Power Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team for the design of renewable energy systems supporting the energy transition.The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of power systems design. As Lead Power Systems Engineer you will be part of our team of experts. The department is a highly experienced and successful key player within the energy industry around the world, covering all aspects of the client’s value chain in offshore wind projects, energy transition projects as well as large scale industrial projects. This role requires a combination of skills including technical leadership, project management, and business development.Responsibilities:Serve as a technical lead electrical engineer in all project execution phases from early development to construction phase. Projects will include power systems support for the offshore wind industry, solar PV generation, energy storage and support for district energy projects.Interface with, and advise clients on technical approach.Lead the quality review process of work products developed by others, lead a team of electrical designers and electrical engineers, and coordinate the work of other discipline engineers into the final design deliverables.Develop and review technical engineering specifications for electrical equipment.Understand and implement the codes and standards as related to the power systems environment, including but not limited to IEEE, NFPA, NESC, BOEM, ACP, API, NERC and Utility requirements.Perform design and lead electrical studies and calculations for power systems.And it would be beneficial, not a requirement, if you have experience with the following:
HVDC systems, including submarine and underground cables.Insight in protection philosophies and concepts.Insight in station control systems.Insight in SCADA/automation/OT security.Experience with offshore platform design.
Skills and Qualifications:10+ years relevant work experience in power systems, wind farms, solar PV farms, energy storage or consulting engineering in similar industries.BS, or MS within Electrical Engineering engaged in lifelong learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues.PE license in the USA required.2+ years’ experience leading a team of design professionals in a consulting engineering environment.Communication: capability to effectively communicate with employees, clients, and business partners to create a clear and mutual understanding on common goals, directives and expectations.
