The Project Engineer is responsible for providing technical and other project support to a project manager for either a single large project or multiple smaller projects. Duties include review of plans and specifications; answering questions related to specific aspects of a project such as scope, schedule, budget, and other requirements; monitoring and reporting of costs and project progress; and special projects as assigned.
Key Accountabilities
Review of plans, technical documents, permit requirements, contracts, and other commercial documents.Responding to questions regarding specific aspects of a project such as scope, schedule, and budget.Preparing cost estimates, schedules, and purchase orders.Preparing and evaluating bid packages for engineering, construction, equipment, and materials.Monitoring activities at a construction site to ensure work progresses as scheduled, within budget, as well adherence to project technical and commercial requirements.Coordinating activities of contractors, consultants, and vendors in support of assigned projects or in support of a project manager.Acting as a Task Manager with responsibility for compliance with scope, technical, budget, and schedule requirements for specific tasks to a larger project.Performing technical due diligence activities in support of development efforts.Performs all other related duties as assigned
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
Requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in engineering or equivalent disciplineMinimum of 7 to 12 years of experience in the engineering or construction fields

Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures related to the engineering and construction industriesRelies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the jobWorks under supervision of a project manager or directorAbility to function within a matrix organization in which functional and business leaders have equal authority within the organization and employees report to both a functional leader and a business leaderAbility to develop and maintain productive relationships with both a functional and business leader, who collaborate on employee issues and decisions (including performance management, compensation, and development)
