Job Description SummaryThe Sr. Manager Corporate Sanitation provides leadership and technical expertise for facility sanitation departments throughout Lamb Weston. This position is a technical expert for facility sanitation, cleaning processes and innovations, chemistry of cleaners, and current best practices in sanitation as it relates to food safety standards and continuous improvement. The Sr. Manager Corporate Sanitation champions continuous improvement in cleaning/sanitation technologies and outlines sequential cleaning operations. This position leads the corporate sanitation team and is responsible for performance, outcomes, and program assessments. The individual will be required to work closely with operations, sanitation, microbiology and food safety, engineering, and quality departments.

Job Description

Manage sanitation KPIs for corporate dashboard. Maintain team’s knowledge of KPI’s and reporting structure.

Coordinate Master Sanitation Schedule platform and recommend best practices for MSS generation, tracking, and accountability.

Monitor and assign facility Sanitation Program Assessments. Develop Corrective Action Plan and assign corporate team as necessary for gap improvement.

Direct oversight for Lamb Weston sanitation for North American and international facilities, as assigned.

Direct liaison with chemical vendors and procurement to establish a reliable, consistent relationship. Assists with contract negotiation and/or pricing schematics.

Work closely with Corporate Sanitation Team and Plant Sanitation to institutionalize employee/skill development through formal training programs and coaching.

Champion new and/or novel sanitation interventions, including new available chemistry and new (or existing) technology.

Continuously monitor sanitation performance and recommend improvement tactics.

Outline team objectives and performance; assign corporate sanitation team to facility needs as necessary.

Collaborate with Manager Sanitation and Hygiene for cleaning system functionality and upgrades (including CIP, COP, etc.) to facilitate effective and efficient systems.

Create a companywide best practice portfolio for sanitation activities to include sequence, personnel schematics, time studies, equipment utilization, and optimum performance methods.

Work closely with Director of Food Safety Compliance & Sanitation and FSU to institutionalize employee/skill development through formal training programs and coaching.

Support and ensure compliance with BRC, FSMA, FDA, OSHA, State and Local regulations in the areas of GMP, Sanitation, CIP, Pest Control, Environmental Monitoring and hygienic design programs.

Review and publish sanitation related programs and standards within the Lamb Weston Food Safety Manual.

Review and approve all Root Cause Corrective Action (RCA) investigations for positive results in Sanitation Effectiveness and Environmental Monitoring Programs (EMPs) at all facilities.

Work with corporate sanitation team to troubleshoot sanitation, food safety, and quality issues at the plant level. Lead team to identify and implement necessary and appropriate corrective measures.

Work closely with pest control companies and Director of Food Safety Compliance & Sanitation to ensure compliance with an interactive Integrated Pest Management (IPM) system.

Coordinate equipment funding at each facility within the chemical vendor’s equipment fund contract. Delegate funds as appropriate and with proper justification.

Investigate and recommend innovations, technologies and practices in sanitation to improve sanitation efficiency and or effectiveness including resource management (manpower, supplies, chemicals, water, energy).

Participate as needed in FSQRA and Pre-CIR meetings to ensure that new equipment is designed for cleanability.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications

B.S. in Microbiology, Food Science or related field required. M.S. strongly preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of progressive food safety and food processing experience required; at least 5 years in an employee supervisory/management role in a manufacturing environment under FDA and/or HACCP managing food processing sanitation program preferred.

Prefer individual with Sanitation/Microbiological background and pest control knowledge in a food manufacturing environment.

Excellent and proficient grasp of FSMA, BRC code, OSHA and all criteria related to Sanitation, Pest Control, Hygienic Design and Food Microbiological Safety and risk prevention.

Must be able to work independently and have strong demonstrated leadership, interpersonal and self-initiative skills.

Excellent organizational and project management skills a must.

Computer Skills: MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.

Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). Proficient command of English - must be an effective communicator (oral and written) with training, facilitation and project management skills. Must have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Bilingual in Spanish a plus.

Ability to travel up to 40% of the time. Could include international travel.

Physical RequirementsIncumbent must have the ability to effectively perform all of the following physical demands without assistance:

Stand, sit, and/or walk for up to 8 hours a day.

Drive company or rental vehicle for up to 6 hours in a day, infrequently.

Occasionally will work in plant settings.

Use of lab equipment and tools.

Lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally and up to 50 lbs. infrequently.

A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $110,610.00 - $165,920.00.
