Amentum is currently seeking a
Linux Systems Administrator
to support an IT Managed Services program in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The overall program includes a 500+ work force performing Enterprise IT support, Service Desk, and Telecommunications support across multiple facilities and locations, for classified and unclassified telecommunications and information technology (IT) systems.You will be a part of a team that provides computing capabilities and in-depth support for scientific and engineering applications. The team builds and maintains user environments, delivers subject matter expert support, and application-level software and tools to the scientific and engineering communities.As a member of the team, you will:Perform installations and patching of Linux operating systems.Assist customers with the installation and updates of applications.Install software and troubleshoot software install issues.Monitor systems and preform hardware troubleshooting, tracking, resolution, and routine maintenance and security updates.Perform system backups and provide data recovery.Minimum Qualifications:Must have a Bachelors degree and 2 years of experience OR an Associates degree and 5 years of experience OR a High School degree and 8 years of experience OR equivalent.Related experience can be substituted for relevant education and vice versa.Must have an ACTIVE DOE Q or TOP SECRET clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a TOP SECRET (TS) or DOE Q Clearance.Linux Server System Administration & UNIX experience at least 2 yearsAbility to research, assemble, and evaluate information or data regarding industry practices or applicable regulatory changes and recommend sound, practical solutions to complex issues.Automation platforms such as Ansible, VMware, Python at least 1-3 yearsExperience in Bash, PowerShell, or other scripting language for automating System Admin tasks or troubleshooting existing processesExperience with container technology, such as Kubernetes, RKE, Docker, etc.Amentum is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
