Role Description:Seeking a senior level, Full Stack Web Developer to support a high visibility research and development program, building web applications and services in support of our nation’s warfighters and intelligence communities. As a Full Stack Software Developer, you will have the opportunity to develop front-end interfaces and create back-end software that directly affects the lives of our warfighters. You will also be joining a growing team of engineers, scientists, and subject matter experts in Dayton, OH, truly dedicated to improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our Airmen.

Essential Job Functions:

Work with Airmen and subject matter experts to identify needs and workflows of the operational communities we support.Support the development of web-based applications, services, interfaces, and data visualizations with the help of human factors professionals in support of those operational community needs.Capture requirements, design, develop, and deliver databases to interact with the various tools in current and future production.Develop data capture and analysis tools to support the research teams within the group.Apply development and testing best practices.Participate in the team’s agile development process.Act as a mentor for junior software engineers.Help provide documentation, integration, and training support to users.

Requirements:Due to the sensitivity of customer requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required. At least a BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline and at least 8 years of related development experience. Examples of past work highly encouraged. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information: applicant will be required to obtain and hold a minimum of a SECRET U.S. DoD security clearance. Experience with front-end web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, etc.) and a familiarity with JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, etc.). Experience with developing, deploying, and interacting with databases (MongoDB, SQL, etc.). Comfortable with version control software (Git) and project management tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.). Experience with unit testing and test-driven design. Excellent written and verbal English communications skills. Ability to work well in team environments. Some intermittent travel to support requirements gathering, integration, and training is likely.

While not firm requirements for consideration, we feel an ideal candidate may also bring the following attributes:

Experience with an additional programming language (C++, Python, etc.).Experience with deploying software in cloud environments (AWS, PlatformOne, etc.).A familiarity with modelling and simulation tools and best practices.A familiarity with the intelligence data and the collection management process.A familiarity with human interface research and technologies.An active U.S. DOD security clearance.
