Physical Security Specialist III
. This role involves providing authoritative analytical and advisory services to interpret and apply physical security policies and program requirements across USTP.Location: Hybrid remote office location is an option. We will only consider candidates who live in the Washington DC metro area.Key responsibilities include:PIV processing and site inspections.Serve as primary PIV Registrar Activator for EOUST.Conduct enrollment for personnel requiring PIV cards in the US Access system.Activate and/or update PIV cards for all personnel eligible to receive PIV cards for USTP.Coordinate with department contacts and field personnel; provide training and guidance on the process of obtaining a new or replacement PIV card.Serve as a back-up to the Program's Personnel Security Specialist and have the ability and knowledge to initiate credit, name, and fingerprint checks for employees, contractors, and trustees.Initiate investigations to OPM/FBI on or before employee's EOD date and as soon as practicable for trustees, ensuring that all submission requirements are met.Prepare findings of physical security surveys and inspections, or review and analyze findings of third-party security surveys, for evaluating the Program's effective management of risk and conformance to applicable security guidelines.Work with each office on completing an Annual Safety and Health inspection checklist, providing notice of issues within an office or meeting room that may need to be addressed with the General Services Administration (GSA).Assist USTP with authoritative analytical and advisory services to interpret and apply physical security policy, program requirements, and procedures applicable throughout USTP, which consists of approximately 1200 plus USTP federal staff and contractors located at the headquarters and about 100 regional offices throughout the United States.Required Qualifications:Experience:A minimum of ten (10) years of total experience,
including at least five (5) years in a federal/government setting with specialized experience in physical security.Required Security Clearance:Active Top Secret security clearance.Education:A high school diploma or GED is required (at a minimum)
or higher.Skills and Knowledge:In-depth knowledge of federal security regulations, guidelines, and standards, including PIV card issuance, maintenance, and related security practices.Familiarity with the US Access system or similar identity management systems.Ability to interpret and apply security policies effectively and communicate them to non-technical personnel.Technical Proficiency:Proficiency in security management software and familiarity with investigative tools.Analytical Abilities:Solid analytical and problem-solving skills for comprehensive risk assessments.Effective written and verbal communication skills to deliver training, policy interpretation, and guidance.Travel Requirements:Ability to travel outside the Washington, D.C. area for site inspections and assessments, in compliance with Federal Travel Regulations.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer with a commitment to diversity.
