Today’s dynamic global security threats require solutions both big and small – solutions living within the Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC). Boasting state-of-the-art design capabilities, multiple processing nodes, electrical testing, environmental and QCI screening, and failure analysis, the NGMC is a leader in designing, fabricating, packaging and delivering discriminating microelectronics to the military, aerospace, and commercial markets.

The Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) department is seeking Systems Engineer to join our team and develop these technologies into high-performance computing systems. You’ll work in a fast-paced team environment alongside physicists, design engineers, and superconducting foundry engineers to make these technologies a reality.

Leads a team responsible for integration and setup of factory planning tools for a manufacturing organization.

Responsible for schedule execution, escalation of issues, and providing team direction and clarity.

Creates acceptance test plans with the team based off requirements from the manufacturing organization.

Point of contact for vendor cross talk with integration and acceptance plans.

Responsible for identifying shortcomings in capacity models for the factory floor as well as adapting to changing needs in an R&D manufacturing environment.

Design, collect data, analyze, and compile reports on a variety of WIP in a high mix environment.

Work with the team to create factory floor models, validate master scheduling and prediction accuracy; develop capacity planning models.

Applies systems engineering best practices, principles, and concepts to architectures within a manufacturing context.

Serves as a role model and sets the example, whose behavior is emulated by other engineering team members.

This position can be filled at either the Principal or Sr. Principal level.

This position will serve on-site in Linthicum/ Annapolis Junction, MD.

Basic Qualifications for Principal System Architect:

Bachelor's Degree or higher in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a similar technical discipline with 5 years of related experience, or 3 years with a Master's Degree, or 0 years with a PhD.

Experience in leading teams, performing work breakdown, tasking, and delivering to schedule needs.

Able to drive execution of Statement of Work (SOW) components with vendors and work cross team.

Experience in a semiconductor or microelectronics fab in operations or a factory planning organization.

Strong skills in problem solving / troubleshooting.

Experience in planning activities involving production control, inventory control, process control, or shop floor control / Material Resources Planning (MRP).

Limited travel to local Northrop Grumman facilities may be required.

This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with poly clearance per business requirements.

Bachelor's Degree or higher in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, or a similar technical discipline with 9 years of related experience, or 7 years with a Master's Degree, or 4 years with a PhD.

Experience in leading teams, performing work breakdown, tasking, and delivering to schedule needs.

Able to drive execution of Statement of Work (SOW) components with vendors and work cross team.

Experience in a semiconductor or microelectronics fab in operations or a factory planning organization.

Strong skills in problem solving / troubleshooting.

This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with poly clearance per business requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

Active TS/SCI with poly security clearance.

A bachelor’s or master’s degree or higher in industrial engineering.

Experience in semiconductor manufacturing lines and/or R&D microelectronics manufacturing.

Experience with Applied Materials APD / Real Time Dispatch (RTD) products.

Strong skills in data mining, data analysis and critical thinking to aid in troubleshooting scheduling issues.

Understanding of how factory planners use simulation and advanced analytics tools to perform WIP scheduling in automated fashions.

Experience with Applied Materials SmartFactory Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) solution.

Salary Range:

$102,400 - $160,900

Salary Range 2:

$127,000 - $199,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
